In Loving Memory of Bee Pitts
Our sweet Bee — also lovingly known as Bey, Beetie Bop, and, of course, Deputy Chief.
Bee will truly be missed by Tonya Pitts, the Pitts family, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
Bee was such a gentle, loving furry baby with a personality all her own. She was always ready to play ball and knew exactly how the game worked—fetch the ball, bring it back, and drop it right in front of you. And when Bee was ready to play, she made sure you knew it. She demanded her playtime and wasn’t taking no for an answer.
Bee was also quite the neighborhood celebrity. During her walks, neighbors would often stop to compliment her beautiful appearance, sweet demeanor, and how well-behaved she was. She knew she was a good girl and she knew she was pretty, too!
And then there were the coats. Bee was known around the block for her collection of stylish winter coats, lovingly mailed to her each year by a family member. She enjoyed every compliment she received and would even look for her favorite neighbors during her walks, almost as if she was waiting for them to notice what she was wearing that day.
Bee loved being with her family and especially enjoyed her road trips. Whether it was a short ride around town or a long trip to Chicago or Virginia, as long as she was with her family, Bee was happy.
I could not have asked for a better furry baby.
From the moment she woke up in the morning, raised her head, and looked at me because she was ready for her first walk, to the end of the day when she would get tired and stare at me until I finally said, “Night night,” Bee had her routines—and I loved every one of them. Once she heard those words, she knew it was bedtime. She would get into her bed, settle in, and go to sleep.
Those little everyday moments are the ones I will treasure forever.
Bee, Bey, Beetie Bop, Deputy Chief you had many nicknames because you held so many special places in our hearts. You were more than a pet. You were family, a companion, a source of laughter, comfort, and unconditional love.
You brought so much joy to my life and to everyone who had the privilege of meeting you. The house, the walks, the road trips, and our everyday routines simply won’t be the same without you.
Rest peacefully, my sweet furry baby.
You were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed.
Love you always,
Auntie Mama
